About the team
The Infrastructure and Place division is charged with the delivery of an ambitious and once-in-a generation program of public infrastructure works.
We are developing and delivering smart, integrated and sustainable infrastructure and places that are valued by our customers and communities.
The Technical Services Branch provides specialised engineering services for the multi-modal delivery, operations and management of our Transport network.
We are the centre of technical expertise driving innovation and best practice.
The opportunity
We have an amazing opportunity for multiple motivated and enthusiastic Project Engineer – Fleet to play a pivotal role in delivering some of the best infrastructure projects in NSW.
The primary purpose of this role is to support the Engineering Manager, Senior Project Engineer and/ or Project Manager in the delivery and management of large scale complex multiple projects within a program of work within clearly defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints, typically technically leading a significant phase of Fleet project or Fleet product subsystem.
The opportunity is for three (3) permanent Project Engineer – Fleet.
Two (2) positions will be on the Regional Rail Project, with focus areas of mechanical engineering and electrical engineering.
One (1) positions will be on the New Intercity Fleet (Mariyung) Project, with focus areas of mechanical engineering.
What you will be involved in:
Undertaking the duties requested with the appropriate behaviours and complying with all relevant quality, safety, project management and engineering standards and procedures.
Delivering technical tasks to comply with time, cost, quality, safety, project, engineering standards and procedures. Tasks may include:
Resolving technical queries in collaboration with the appropriate technical stakeholders,
Provide advisory support to resolve design issues through the asset lifecycle,
Review, verify and accept technical documentation against contracted technical requirements,
Provide oversight and monitoring of temporary works designs,
Review, implement and monitor engineering processes
Contribute to operation and maintenance plans for the procured fleet assets.
Answer, resolve or escalate all technical queries (as required) in a timely manner to meet project deadlines.
Support Project Management to determine project risks, provide input into a project risk register, monitor risks, and implement mitigations (as required).

About you

Essential requirements
Bachelor Degree qualifications in Mechanical, Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering, or equivalent relevant discipline, or equivalent professional qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
This role is recognised as requiring a Professional Engineer.
This role is identified as a Rail Safety Worker (RSW)
The role is identified as requiring to hold an Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card to conduct the duties and therefore is required to satisfy appropriate medical requirements to (Cat 3, Nil CV, Cat 3 hearing).
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this role is Grade 8 ($120,423.00 - $134,872.00) per annum plus superannuation depending on your level of experience.
