The Division

We are the New South Wales maritime service provider and safety regulator for commercial and recreational vessels and their operators. Our business units carry out numerous activities to keep NSW waterways safe, accessible and vibrant places for the local and visiting communities.

 

The Role

We have an exciting and new opportunity for a Project Engineer - Asset Maintenance who will be responsible for the project management of multiple small maritime maintenance projects the Maritime Assets under Maritime Asset Maintenance as well as undertaking onsite inspections and assisting with the delivery of asset management of these assets and programs.

 

The role will ensure and oversee all routine maintenance is adhered to and carried out by our service providers to the standards and specifications outlined on our service contracts, including minor upgrades. The role will also have an opportunity to be involved in small key projects, aligned to our strategy starting with one at Barangaroo.

About You

Ideally you will have practical experience of delivering maintenance projects and have some experience with asset management in a maritime environment. This role will require you to work alongside consultants and contractors therefore it is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

 

You must have a four-year engineering (Civil / Structural or related) degree.

 

You may also have technical and design knowledge of equipment and techniques used in maritime or similar environments with the ability to understand the “wharf structures condition assessment manual” (WSCAM), codes of best practice and statutory requirements and obligations.

 

Knowledge and demonstrated experience using Enterprise Asset Management system preferably SAP EAM would be looked upon favourably

 

You must hold an unrestricted NSW Driver’s License and must know how to swim.

 

Salary and Benefits 

The salary for this position is Officer12 ($114,311) per annum plus superannuation.

 

Transport is moving towards hybrid ways of working which will also to this role. In addition, this position is eligible for 3 flex days in a month
