About the team 

The Infrastructure and Place division is in the process of delivering a once-in-a generation multi-billion program of public infrastructure works which will ease congestion, improve safety, create new places and connect communities for generations to come. The Development Branch within the Infrastructure and Place division is responsible for the development of transport and place solutions that facilitate broader economic, social and environmental outcomes.  

The opportunity 

Due to the unprecedented scale of investment in the Transport for NSW Future Transport strategy we have an exciting opportunity for a Project Development Manager to join our Wagga-Wagga based Regional Infrastructure Development team working across South Western regional NSW. You will be responsible for leading the early development of road and bridge infrastructure projects through to completion of concept design, environmental approval and business case preparation. 

  • You will lead an interdisciplinary team of specialist and support staff to undertake and manage Development tasks such as:
  • Set and monitor procurement activities, including formulation of service briefs for internal and external service providers, tender and contract documentation, assessment and management
  • Contribute to delivery strategy and project business cases, leading and managing the implementation of project plans including scheduling of activities, key milestones, and deliverables within an agreed budget.
  • Coordinate project inputs from various service providers to ensure progress towards meeting project milestones and budgets, and report on progress to senior management. 

About you 

You will have relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in planning, engineering, project management or a related discipline. 

A proven project management background in developing large multi-disciplinary, complex infrastructure projects, whilst managing and leading multidisciplinary teams.  

Essential requirements 

  • Tertiary qualifications and extensive experience in planning, civil engineering, project management      or related discipline.
  • Experience in managing the development of complex infrastructure projects
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate the delivery of environmental assessments, incorporate stakeholder requirements and assess strategic and concept designs.
  • The successful applicant may be required to work outside normal working hours or to travel on occasion.
