BBC Spark is a Continuous Improvement team, working with colleagues at the BBC to think differently about what they do and how they do it. We use a variety of transformation tools and techniques to help teams deliver even better value for money for licence fee payers and meet new audience and digital challenges.  

We are recruiting for a Projects and Change Analyst to join our team. Ideally, you’ll have some experience in improvement e.g. root cause analysis, process mapping and group facilitation. You’ll also be great at gathering, analysing and presenting information. You’ll be highly organised, a great team-player and passionate about the BBC. The role will be based in London or Salford but project location can vary which may mean some travel. This is a hybrid role.

Role Responsibility

You will be working on a variety of improvement projects across the BBC, from smaller initiatives to larger scale transformations, both with Spark Improvement Managers and other BBC teams. You will be helping colleagues get to the root cause of their business challenges and, using different tools and techniques, help them to develop and implement solutions.

A crucial part of your role will be to accurately interpret and present data in interesting, innovative, visual ways, appropriate to the audience (using Excel, PowerPoint, Visio etc).

You will be organising and facilitating workshops, making sure all attendees are able to contribute constructively and making sure outputs are captured.

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working within change or continuous improvement – Lean or Change Management qualifications preferable.
• An excellent problem solver, offering the right balance of creativity and pragmatism, with the confidence to challenge assumptions and instigate positive change to achieve business goals
• Able to produce high quality professional presentations and data analysis.
• Confident user of PowerPoint, Excel, Teams. Visio, Power BI or Tableau and Miro would be an advantage.
• An appreciation of the core concepts and processes required within continuous improvement / business transformation.
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written and listening): an ability to present information accurately and concisely, in a style appropriate to the audience.
• Excellent time management and organisational skills, with demonstrable experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines and managing a high workload with conflicting priorities.
