As part of the Central Technical Organisation (CTO) the EDF Renewables Engineering Team provides engineering governance, oversight and support for all asset types across their lifecycle from origination to decommissioning.

Now a wholly owned subsidiary of EDF Renewables, Pivot Power has an extensive portfolio of approximately 2GW of projects throughout the country at various stages of development, including 100MW of operational assets.and operation of renewable technologies. The Project Engineer – Battery Energy Storage Systems will play a key role in delivering on our BESS ambitions. You will be responsible for providing project engineering, leadership and oversight for BESS projects in development and construction.

What's my role and where will I fit in?

•    Deliver Project Engineering activities for assigned BESS projects
•    Contribute to governance, oversight and support activities for BESS projects
•    Ensure Engineering activities in relation to EDF Renewables BESS portfolio are undertaken in accordance with statutory requirements and EDF Renewables’ policies
•    Embed Engineering excellence, operational experience, and best available techniques into BESS Engineering activities
•    Embed the consideration of risk and lifetime costs in all Engineering activities
•    Ensure that operational learning and operational requirements are key considerations in the origination, design and construction of BESS assets

What do I need to be great in this role?

As the successful applicant, you will contribute to building a compelling vision for delivering Engineering Excellence in the CTO, Engineering Team, and the BESS portfolio, demonstrating an ability to lead and add value to opportunities in a highly competitive and changing marketplace. 

You will work closely with the BESS and PV Solar lead to ensure technical support and guidance to BESS projects in delivery of EDF ambitions. You will be responsible for contributing to a strong, collaborative and positive working culture within CTO Engineering the wider business, and our contract partners, and for delivering the full potential of synergies and efficiencies with the wider business.

Requirements:
•    Engineering degree
•    Experience of managing risks and challenges in an industrial scale generation environment
•    Flexibility to travel around the UK and overseas if required
•    Full clean driving licence
