What's “Care Journeys” all about? 

Barnardo's and Plymouth City Council are working in partnership to transform the lives of care experienced children and young people. As part of our “Care Journeys” work across the city, we are looking to not only create new projects, but influence existing systems and services.  

About you 

You will have received a Service Administrator job description and person specification.  This is a generic role in use throughout the organisation. We are looking for someone to work office hours in our central Plymouth office on Wednesday afternoons, Thursdays and Fridays.  

What do your duties include?

• Administrative support to the team.
• Providing office cover and answering telephones.
• Administering petty cash system.
• Processing staff expenses.
• Using all relevant IT applications.
• supporting with budget preparation and monitoring.
• Provide reception support.

What will you need to offer?

• Experience of using IT applications including Word and Excel.
• Good communication skills.
• Experience of record keeping.
• Organisational skills.
• Ability to work as a member of a team as well as an individual.

There will be times where you have to work on your own, but there is also a strong team ethos both for us as Barnardo's in Plymouth, in the Care Journeys team, and with our partners in Plymouth City Council and beyond. 

What you can expect from us

• Mandatory e-learning.
• Support around Barnardo's financial procedures'.
• Shadowing opportunities with Barnardo's staff.
• Safeguarding training.
• Mental Health First Aid training.
• First Aid training.
