Description

Robert Half is currently hiring for a Project Accountant in Delta BC! You will be an integral part of a mid-size firm that specializes in consulting and installation services for clients across Canada. This position is full time and based in office. You will report to the Controller and liaise with departments across the organization. You will contribute by managing the assigned project portfolio and managing all project related activities from end to end.

The day to day tasks will include:

• Review, track, analyze and report on the project data
• Managing projects and progress billings process
• Setting up projects within the company systems and ensure the data is managed accurately
• Support the project managers with tracking the project progress and additional adhoc requests  
• Follow up with the Junior accountant and assist with project-related accounts payable functions as required
• Reconcile the accounts related to projects and follow up on discrepancies
• Provide the controller with sub ledger project reports
• Provide timely reporting for the projects at the period end including but not limited to revenue analysis, hours billed report, variance report etc.
• Adhoc projects as requested by the controller

 Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 3+ years of strong project accounting experience is required 
• Experience with project costing, labour and materials, is required
• Experience with a similar industry (including but not limited to construction, consulting, engineering, automation etc.) will be given preference
• Experience using ERP systems will be an asset
• Relevant accounting education will be an asset
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills are required
• Excellent communication skills (both written & verbal)
