Barnardo's is working in partnership to support the lives of young people who are not in education, employment or training (NEET) in the Swansea area. The aim of the programme is to equip young people 16-25 with the skills, confidence and ambition to pursue their goals of finding employment, apprenticeships or further education and training.
The Project Worker role will provide a pivotal role to the development of the Barnardo's programme in the Swansea area. Working with vulnerable NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people this role focuses on supporting young people through an employability programme that is flexible and tailored to individual need. The programme will help young people to improve employability skills, confidence and self-esteem.
You will work with young people to assertively and creatively engage with disadvantaged young people. The project worker will lead and develop the work in this area and will be responsible for providing quality Information, Advice and Guidance.
You will be responsible for contributing to, devising, and developing schemes of work, session plans and resources to meet curriculum requirements to equip young people with the personal social and development skills, motivation, confidence and employability skills to progress into and sustain employment and/or further education/training.
You will be responsible for working closely with other Pathways to Work partners utilising the support they bring to help the young person progress to work or further education. Supporting young people to continue their progress to work, providing finding work support in the process.
This post will involve travelling around the Swansea area.
