About this role

The role will be responsible for providing specialist expertise to ensure that the volume and specialist fleets for the Chief Engineer (CE) build teams are aligned to our build targets, the vehicles are utilised in accordance with our policies and that our fleet provider delivers in line with our SLAs, minimising vehicle down time to ensure for field and financial efficiencies. 

The post holder will be also be responsible for ensuring that the CE volume and specialist vehicles strategy delivers operational and financial efficiencies based on technology solutions and mix management.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Owns the Chief Engineer build team vehicle forecast – aligned to build targets and recruitment plans

Leads in compliance matters and engages with Openreach fleet teams to manage communication and behaviours aligned to the CE fleet strategy

Owns the relationship with Rivus, our fleet provider, to ensure our fleet remains compliant and on the road

Regularly communicate reports from field based findings to the wider business

Applies advanced technical capabilities to lead or support in key accountability areas or major projects in own area, performing short and long-term performance analysis, reporting and planning to support formulation of business plans

You'll have the following skills & experience

Knowledge of fleet finance and compliance

Understanding of fleet processes directly related to SMR and external contractor networks

CPC holder (preferred) or has at least 3 years knowledge and experience working in a fleet/workshop/transport role.

Understanding of compliance for DFT, DVSA and DVLA senior management through to team members and external agents

Has clear experience assisting managing or directly supervising medium to large fleets across a business with multiple stakeholders

Ability to interpret and understand deep analytics and translating into actionable programs, operations or activities. 

Using your excellent problem-solving capabilities, analytics skills and operational insights experience you’re able to implement strategy and drive business decisions. 

You have the interpersonal skills needed to influence or challenge peers, fellow directors and functional leads, consistently encouraging innovation and best customer outcomes.
