About NSW Goalball
Goalball is a team sport played competitively by athletes with vision impairment. Goalball was first introduced to the Paralympics in 1976. As of 2017 there were 81 competing nations.
NSW Goalball is a State Sporting Organisation for people with Disabilities (SSOD) that delivers goalball programs, training, events and competitions within New South Wales.
NSW Goalball has the largest goalball member base in Australia and offers the largest school’s program in the world. In 2019, more than 7,200 school-aged children participated in Goalball programs which focus on disability awareness, inclusivity and physical literacy.
Off the back of the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are seeking to re-establish our operations and to expand on a number of new and exciting opportunities. These are primarily based off:

As a result, we are recruiting part-time Program Coordinator to help manage, develop and deliver our day-to-day operations and programs.
Role: Program Coordinator (Contractor)
The Program Coordinator is an exciting opportunity to build sustainable, high quality operational programs for NSW Goalball.
The initial focus of this role is reviewing, developing and enhancing industry recognised programs designed for school-aged children that foster inclusivity, disability awareness and physical literacy through the sport of Goalball.
Critical to this role will be ensuring adequate training materials and processes are established to assist in building a workforce of Development Officers and Third-Party Providers capable of delivering NSW Goalball developed programs. While this role is not intended to be primarily responsible for delivering these school programs, it is expected that the Program Coordinator is capable of doing so, especially while Development Officers are being identified and trained.
The Program Coordinator will also work closely with the NSW Goalball Board to form strategic relationships with critical Third Parties including sponsors, grant providers, schools and various sporting and not-for-profit organisations.
This role has the ability to grow with the success of these programs and could open into a full-time position with greater responsibilities depending on achieving key objectives and the desire of the person appointed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaise with previous Goalball 4 School Development Officers to build an operations ‘playbook’ to standardise the process from start to finish, including but not limited to:
Generic ‘copy’ for ‘cold calls’, first time enquiries, repeat enquiries, program confirmation, program follow up
Info brochures for specific programs
Checklists for pre-booking, pre-program and post program
Program run sheets including overview, objectives skills, drills, messaging and considerations
Train-the-trainer guides to upskill casual/contract Development Officers and 3rd Party providers
Working with the Board, identify and upskill Development Officers to support the delivery of Goalball 4 Schools & other Goalball NSW Programs. This may be through university students to be placed with NSW Goalball, contractor or other Third Party Providers
Be the primary point of contact for all enquires and either provide relevant responses or distribute enquires to relevant Board members
Facilitate general administrative tasks including communications, shop order fulfillment, booking management, program sentiment surveys etc
Assist the Chairperson and Programs Manager on all NSW Goalball events including, NSW Goalball 4 Schools, State Championships and Sydney City events with pre-tournament coordination, on the day set up and pack down, on the day coordination of volunteers, officials and teams
Assist Tamworth and Hunter HUBS where required by the NSW Goalball Board
Work effectively with Assistant Principals and Itinerant Support Teachers of Vision to establish strong participation and program delivery results
Deliver relevant Goalball programs in conjunction with other Development Officers or when Development Officers are unavailable
Criteria
Sound administration, organisational and time management skills
Engaging and professional communication skills - both verbal and written
Good understanding of the structure of sport and coaching with a particular focus on programs for students
Experience working with people with a disability desired
Ability to work with a variety of stakeholders
Demonstrable experience working unsupervised
Track record in training and coordinating others
Ability to manage workload and balance competing priorities
Valid Working with Children Check
Valid Australian Driver’s License
Valid First Aid Certificate
