This is an exciting opportunity to join our profit protection team as a Profit Protection Area Manager. Responsible for Profit Protection activities across our John Lewis and Waitrose branches within the North East: Bringing our profit protection strategy to life across your area; keeping our Partners and customers safe across Waitrose & John Lewis sites; managing the risks of malicious harm to our Partners & Customers and reducing shrinkage within budget and risk appetite.
As a profit protection area manager, you will be responsible for Profit Protection activities across our John Lewis and Waitrose sites within your region. Proactively mitigating the risks of malicious harm to our Customers & Partners, and protecting our profits from shrinkage.
You will conduct assessments of our sites; creating action plans, and holding stakeholders to account - ensuring clear objectives, aligned to our overall strategy are set for your area. You will partner with Heads of Branches and Branch Managers to ensure they are actively managing the sites’ shrinkage performance and responding to Partner and Physical security risks. Working with Partners across the Partnership; collaboratively identifying solutions and continually improving our profit protection proposition.
You will be responsible for conducting investigations in the field, gathering information, and passing this on to our investigations and data mining team to analyse data. You will proactively tackle external theft in Waitrose and take appropriate action against offenders.. Responding to centrally identified cases through observation, intelligence or whistleblowing - bringing sometimes large and complex cases to conclusion; from interviews, assessments, Police intervention and ultimately arrest in accordance with the law, and Partnership policies and standards.
Mitigating the risks of malicious harm to our Partners & Customers; and managing shrinkage performance within budget and risk appetite. Setting a strategic direction, managing and supporting our Loss Prevention Partners (LPPs) within our John Lewis stores through effective line management. You will be responsible for acting as a point of escalation for our third-party Security Guards; conducting audit and assurance reviews - providing localised Profit Protection training.
This is a Head Office role, however the job is based in Yorkshire and the North East of England. From Newark in Nottinghamshire to Newcastle.

Agility; ability to adapt to change, prioritise your workload and work independently.
Knowledge of security-related criminal law would be advantageous
Retail experience, including policies and procedures
Experience of working within a profit protection environment
Experience in theft and fraud detection through observation of behaviour
Loss Prevention/Security/Risk/Audit/Investigator Qualifications. E.g. LPC, CSMP, Wicklander Zulawski etc.
