What exactly will you be doing?
Major objectives
To contribute to the achievement of AAT’s business plan objectives and the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation by:
- Developing policy and guidance in the critical areas of professional standards and relevant regulatory requirements, particularly anti-money laundering (AML) compliance to ensure that AAT is compliant with its obligations as a supervisory body, and that AAT members are compliant with the framework within which they operate
- Engaging with relevant regulators (particularly the Office for Professional Body Anti-Money Laundering Supervisors) to demonstrate compliance through data provision and audit activities
- Actively engaging with the membership on their compliance obligations (AML, IFAC, Professional Conduct in Relation to Tax (PCRT), Non-Compliance with Laws and Regulations (NOCLAR)) reducing instances of non-compliance through strategic alignment of policy activity with engagement activity
- Continuing to develop AAT’s reach with targeted and appropriate interaction with key stakeholders both in the UK and globally
- To oversee activity related to member recognition by financial lenders
- To oversee activity related to members who have ATOL accreditation
Requirements

- Analytical approach and sound judgement on complex regulatory issues and implications

- Experience of public speaking
- Proven ability to meet tight deadlines and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to manage heavy and varied workload
- Excellent written communication and ability to convey complex information succinctly
- Excellent verbal communication, including questioning and listening and ability to convey information concisely
- Influencing and persuading skills

- A salary of £38,500-£43,250 pa
- Hybrid working (1-2 days per week in our London office) and opportunities for further flexible working.
