The Radio Sport department provides all the sports event and programme content for both Radio 5 Live and sister station 5live Sports Extra and Test Match Special for Radio 4 LW.  We are also the production team that has created and delivers award winning podcasts, That Peter Crouch Podcast, Football Daily and Rugby Union Weekly. Throw in our TV flagship shows such as Match of the Day and Sports Personality of the Year, we truly have a portfolio to shout about.

We are looking to recruit a Production Management Assistant to join the team and work across the production of sport programmes for 5live Sport, podcasts and digital content aswell as Production Management Assistants to support our Athletics and Golf output in all areas of coverage and activity. You will be an integral part of the team that delivers outstanding and distinctive content that BBC Sport is renowned for.

We want BBC Sport’s output to reflect and understand the audiences we serve - for example, the different geographical regions of the UK and the experience of people from underrepresented groups (eg people from Black, Asian or minority ethnic backgrounds, people with lived experience of disability, individuals within the LGBTQ+ community and those from lower socio economic groups).  We are therefore actively seeking individuals with skills or experience that can help contribute towards ensuring we maximise the diversity of our coverage and content.

Role Responsibility

The successful candidates will provide logistical and administration support to the production team across all of our output, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.

The Production Management Assistant is the central point of contact so the successful candidate must be able to work well on their own initiative and be confident about when to refer up.

Reporting to a Production Manager, you'll work in partnership with editorial colleagues to assist administratively in accordance with the demands of an ever changing broadcasting environment.

The Ideal Candidate

An interest and understanding of the variety of content produced across TV, Radio and Digital Sport will be of benefit. You will have a high attention to detail, the ability to prioritise and multi-task.

Location: Office base Mediacity when required, home working to be discussed.
