About The Role

We're recruiting for Manufacturing Key Operatives - Production to work within our growing and packing teams in our manufacturing site in Lowlands, which is a nursery. It'd be your job to ensure our products are grown, cared for and packed at a high standard in a safe, efficient and hygienic environment for our customers to buy. It's fast paced, high volume and extremely demanding.

Reporting into a Team Manager you will:

• Use trained skills to complete all tasks to ensure that quality products are produced for customers
  
• Be responsible for operational tasks including picking, collecting and  movement of goods by using manual l handling equipment (MHE)
  
• Complete all tasks efficiently in order to reduce waste, reporting all issues if they arise
  
• Handle and package products in accordance with all relevant Safety standards
  
• Create a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues by ensuring that you adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
  
• Follow good manufacturing practices to ensure the working area is kept clean and tidy
  
• Work flexibly to support all areas of the business where required to ensure service levels are met
  
• Carry out product maintenance such as quality and specification checks through weeding, cleaning products trimming back
  
• Use a Fork Lift Truck (FLT) to out load and move raw materials and finished goods

About You

As well as the ability to work in a fast paced environment you will also:

• Have a Fork Lift Truck license (not essential, but preferred)
  
• Work in a nursery environment, where you will be exposed to outside elements which includes temp fluctuations from -10 degrees and upto 50 degrees in the greenhouses during the summer periods 
  
• Feel comfortable working in wet and windy conditions which cause muddy and dusty environments depending on the season and the
• weather conditions, this includes slippery and icy conditions along with exposure to UV radiation
  
• Have the ability to perform a variety of physical activities such as lifting, bending, walking, pushing, pulling and stretching
  
• Be able to maintain concentration throughout shift where tasks are repetitive
  
• Work the majority of the shift on your feet, the count can be up to 30k steps per day
  
• Feel comfortable wearing the necessary PPE
