Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in product strategy.
• Experience in Management Consulting, Corporate Development, Product Management, Engineering, Operations, and/or Finance/Investment Banking/Venture Capital.

Preferred qualifications:

• MBA or Master's degree in a management, technical, or engineering field.
• Experience in journalism or media, connections to newsrooms across region/globe.
• Ability to create effective relationships, influence, and collaborate internally and externally at all organizational levels.
• Ability to collaborate well in a team environment with effective strategic capabilities.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and business acumen.

The mission of Google News is to empower everyone to understand the world through access to high quality news. Our team brings users the news across a variety of Google products and surfaces.

In this role, you will focus strategic topics for Google, and as a result includes engagement with a broad array of stakeholders across Product, Engineering, and broader cross-functional teams including Marketing, Partnerships, Legal, Policy and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Structure complex, ambiguous, and potentially charged business issues for the News team, with particular emphasis on the EMEA region.
• Identify News product white space and opportunity for EMEA by keeping a pulse on News industry trends and product performance in the region, and shaping resulting product strategy recommendations.
• Build consensus among cross-functional teams and influence decision making within executive-level cross-functional audiences.
• Lead seamless and efficient execution against recommendations.
• Ensure clear and consistent narrative and product strategy decisions across EMEA.
