The Product Owner role sits within the group transformation team, it’s a great opportunity for an experienced product owner to join a growing team adopting an agile approach to delivery.

The Role

As a Product Owner you are passionate about creating valuable products advocating the best possible customer outcome. You will work as part of the agile scrum teams collaborating with the different members to continuously developing products via the software delivery process.

Responsibilities Include

• Defining, evolving and aligning product roadmaps working closely with product strategy and technical teams to prioritise the features required

• Defining the “what” for the team, through stories and backlog management ensuring teams have high value features to deliver

• Backlog Management: owning and prioritising the product backlog balancing the value of new features, technical maintenance against fixing issues

• Ensuring product features are translated into requirements that are buildable working closely with the squad leaders, architects design and delivery teams

• Defining user stories based on value and customer outcomes working closely with the product, business and delivery teams

• Collaborating with the product and delivery teams working together on problem solving and identify the most valuable outcome for the business

• Removing blockers to ensure the successful delivery and completion of delivery activities

• Sharing, knowledge and best practice helping a new formed team to develop the product owner practice.

• Agile Experience: operating as a product owner leading squads; acting as an expert who advocates best practices, reflecting continuously and challenging teams to create and tailor new ways of working

• Domain Knowledge: establish and maintain domain expertise of the product, playing a key role within the product community sharing best practice and knowledge

• Product Management: adopting a product and customer centric approach with a passion for user centric design, evolving the product roadmap

• Customer Focused: analyse customer data and insight to identify key customer needs

• Metrics Mindset: Analytical, research and data driven approach to solve customer problems understanding the contribution to a measurable business benefit

• Decision Maker: High confidence when prioritising in complex environments to ensure the delivery of highest value stories to the business. The ability to shape forward and make informed decisions based on value

• Feedback Focussed: understands and applies value, flow and quality principles to build, measure and learn quickly

• Technically Knowledgeable – Strong understanding of the products and technology platforms with the ability to balance the product, customer and technology, relating the technical solutions to the product outcomes

• Communication Skills: be able to communicate product roadmaps/sprint goals at all levels of the organisation, including the agile squads

• Stakeholder Management: set expectations and facilitate conversations about complexity and associated risk in projects, people and timescales

• Collaboration: acting as a central team player you bring stakeholders and delivery teams into conversation and collaborative sessions to work together on problem solving and identify the most valuable outcome for the business

• Planning: you have an organised and coordinated approach to prioritising the product backlog engaging and influencing stakeholders in terms of the highest priority items
