We work across multiple brands - Halifax, Lloyds, Birmingham Midshires and Scottish Widows Bank, supporting customers in both the direct and intermediary channels with new propositions and products.

In the Mortgages Customer Development team we listen to and understand the needs of customers, colleagues and brokers to find new ways to help customers buy and move home, reduce housing costs, access equity and act more sustainably.

The team is responsible for supporting the mortgages business in delivering mortgages growth and delivery of external commitments (to lend £10bn to First Time Buyers), supporting growth in home ownership and improving customer home energy efficiency as part of our commitments from our Strategic Review in 2021. The team also supports the Group’s segmentation strategy, developing propositions that appeal to these specific customer bases including the Older customer segment with our equity release product range. This is achieved through developing effective customer propositions and lending criteria.

As a Product Manager in the Customer Development team you’ll take a prominent role in taking forward our equity release proposition, whilst enhancing distribution via intermediaries channels and considering strategic direction to support growth in this new market. Embracing the ‘best of both’ that hybrid working offers, we’re open to discussing agile and flexible ways of working.

What will your role involve?

• Lead on the execution and delivery of agreed customer proposition plans, taking into account the business, conduct and customer advocacy context

• Work in collaboration with Channel, Operations, Risk, Legal and Transformation to lead and coordinate a wide range of aspects across Mortgage proposition development

• Build a deep and insightful understanding of customer behaviour and customer proposition distribution approaches

Essential Skills:

• Experience in a product management and development role. Knowledge and/or experience in mortgages/equity release mortgages is desirable

• Ability to influence beyond own team, including the wider Group

• Use of own judgement and decision making

• Ability to plan and prioritise own workload, managing multiple tasks

• Able to distil sophisticated information and present in a succinct and clear format through both written and oral presentation

• Attention to detail

• A genuine drive and passion for putting our customers first
