About this role

Directory Solutions provides a vital national service wherein it brings together all telephone directory information from the full range of UK Communication Providers, including BT. It ensures information is made available to all licenced providers, including BT’s own 118 500 and Phone Book products.

The industry is now at a point of real change as BT’s legacy telephone network comes to an end in 2025 to be replaced by cutting-edge IP telephony products. Directory Solutions will be at the heart of these changes Directory listings will no longer having fixed geographical area codes or location settings. 

You'll have the following responsibilities

You’ll be leading the Directory Solutions team with end-to-end responsibility for the business. As a self-contained team, that means you’ll have responsibility for areas such as supplier relationship management, product management, on boarding new customers and Communication Providers, P&L ownership and all contract and licence agreements. Of course, you’ll also be responsible for managing the team and everything that comes with that.

This is a great opportunity for a current or aspiring manager looking to build their leadership and management skills and whom relishes the challenge of being able to run their own business line.

Secondly is the management of the Directories data team responsible for the management of Directory Information for BT Customers.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Ability to manage and lead a team.

Ability to learn fast, with good people management skills.

Contract negotiation/Procurement process experience.

Ability to quickly understand processes, procedures and system tools.

Ideally an interest in or level of knowledge around data protection and related regulations/legislation.
