Role Purpose

The Product & Services (P&S) function within Group Commercial delivers and manages end-to-end best-in-class products and services to support Vodafone’s differentiation in all our markets. The P&S team is organised into three portfolio domains – Home, FinTech and SmartTech Portfolio. The FinTech Portfolio team consists of Insurance, Content & Payments and Innovation product lines supported by the Design, Marketing and Product Development & Delivery chapters.

 

The Product Manager Development & Delivery will be responsible for the development and delivery of products and services as defined in the Insurance, Content & Payment and Innovation pillars, with internal and external partners, based on agile principles. In close cooperation with the respective business owners, the Product Manager will define detailed product requirements on technical level and guide internal and external development teams in the implementation. During early phases of the product lifecycle proof-of-concept and prototyping work will be required and as the product matures, an industrialisation into markets will be managed and led by the Product Manager, followed by lifecyle management for each product.

 

Any stage of the product development and deployment work will require the Product Manager to closely communicate, coordinate and project manage between local market and group development teams, local market and group business owners, third party developers, service providers and test teams, in order to ensure delivery of the defined product within time, quality and budget limits.

For each product the Product Manager will need to be plan and manage an evolution path to realise the best possible mix-and-match between utilising external partner services and internalising assets as a platform.

Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership

  • End-to-end product and project management from concept & product definition to the delivery of consumer services, in time and quality of the global FinTech, Payment & Incubation organisation.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the technical requirements as well as for the platform functionalities and web interfaces towards the end customer
  • Identify and analyse potential trade-off requirements during feasibility and implementation phase and make decisions balancing delivery time, cost and quality and user experience.
  • Lifecycle management of mature services by managing respective maintenance releases.
  • Supplier management and relationship management with the external partners

Core competencies, knowledge and experience

 Extensive knowledge of product developmentExpert knowledge in the implementation of online services ideally within a financial, content or innovation services environmentAgile project management methodologies and processes, progress reporting, risk management, project management tools, project planning and control techniquesInternational experience and background in a complex multi business, multi cultural matrix environment is essential.Well-developed written and verbal communication skillsA self-starter with high levels of self motivation, energy and initiative.

Must have technical / professional qualifications:

  • Excellent technical background in mobile and Internet technologies
  • Minimum 7 years Project and/or Product Management experience with a minimum of  5 years services environment
  • University degree or equivalent desirable
  • Strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Be a team player
