Job Description

What you do at AMD changes everything

At AMD, we push the boundaries of what is possible.  We believe in changing the world for the better by driving innovation in high-performance computing, graphics, and visualization technologies – building blocks for gaming, immersive platforms, and the data center.

Developing great technology takes more than talent: it takes amazing people who understand collaboration, respect, and who will go the “extra mile” to achieve unthinkable results.  It takes people who have the passion and desire to disrupt the status quo, push boundaries, deliver innovation, and change the world.   If you have this type of passion, we invite you to take a look at the opportunities available to come join our team.

The Role:

As part of this team, you will debug and handle manufacturing and characterization test programs for next-generation AMD microprocessors, work on internal System Level Test (SLT) platforms, and debug test infrastructure issues including test HW, test SW, diagnostics, and device-specific IP. Additionally, use SLT data to drive improvements in either the product’s platform software or upstream ATE test coverage. The engineer must ensure overall compatibility, compliance, and test coverage of microprocessors from product definition through product qualification and into high-volume manufacturing by developing product specific test hardware, software, and diagnostics.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and ability to quickly develop expertise across hardware, firmware, and software domains. Good communication is also a must-have, as the position requires collaborating with team members from multiple fields. New graduates are encouraged to apply!

Required Skills:

  • BS/MS EE or CE or equivalent.
  • C++, Java, C, or C#.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar.
  • Familiar with general Computer Architecture concepts such as pipelining, cache hierarchy, x86 architecture, and PC computer organization.
  • Experience with logic analyzers, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, and other debug tools.
  • Familiarity with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office), Microsoft Windows Operating Systems.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.
