The primary role of this position is:

This is a lead engineering position responsible for ATE testing on next-generation AMD microprocessors. Position includes test planning, pattern conversion, silicon characterization/debug and data analysis. This position requires interaction with Design and Platform Engineering and allows for the opportunity to provide test enhancement feedback for future designs. Part of a larger team that correlates the test solution to lab/manufacturing/customer platforms to validate product design, fabrication process, packaging technology, and manufacturing robustness to product specifications. Potential roles of a Senior Member of Technical Staff:

  • Has responsibility for projects or processes of significant technical importance and for results that cross engineering project areas.
  • Solves complex, novel and non-recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/ methods and leads development and implementation.
  • Influences technical decisions that have a significant impact on multiple products or the product line.
  • Involves assuming the consultative or leadership responsibilities for large projects or product development initiatives.
  • Is required to deal with internal and external groups on behalf of the group or project.
  • Has accountability for results for a whole product or large project, as well as for management of interdependencies with related areas.
  • May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers.
  • Influences others as a technical leader.
  • Generates publication(s) relevant to areas of expertise and is capable of presenting at technical conferences
  • Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolve quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationship with other departments.
  • Other duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

Candidates will have a B.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering or M.S. in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering

Required Skills:

  • experience doing bring-up and debug of either scan, memory BIST, high-speed IOs, functional or reset patterns.
  • demonstrated ability in semiconductor product development.
  • proven experience with developing tests, patterns/vectors, timing, and diagnostics on Automated Test Equipment.
  • experience generating and converting ATE patterns.
  • Pareto analysis experience to drive a debug process.
  • Debug experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains.
  • Experience with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar).
  • Experience with Linux or Unix Operating Systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft standard apps (i.e. Office) & Windows.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams.
  • Experience managing projects of 6-12 months duration.
  • Experience leading a 2-5 member project team.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Advantest 93k
  • Experience in XP, AGILE, Scrum, or Kanban as Scrum Master or Product Owner.
  • Experience with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar).
  • Experience with C++, Java, C, or C#.
  • Familiar with hardware description languages.
  • Familiar with JTAG IEEE 1149.1 specification.
  • Familiar with modern computer architecture.
