Role Responsibility

Bargain Hunt is looking for a talented Producer/ Director with substantial experience of managing teams on large, fast turn-around network productions.

Main duties will include:

• Assisting the Series Producer with post-production including overseeing dubs, compliance, on-lines and voiceover sessions with presenters.   
• Assisting the Series Producer in offline viewings and providing advice and feedback to directors on their ideas and scripts.
• Working as a location director at antique fairs and auctions when required and edit producing episodes.
• Responsibility for forward planning, recceing new venues, liaising with experts and presenters, antique fairs and auction houses.
• Responsibility for social media and web content.
• Line managing casting researchers and overseeing the audition process.
• Supporting the Series Producer in recruiting directors, researchers and runners.
• Mentoring and assisting new directors and researchers.
• Taking the lead in organising special episodes such as BBC Children in Need, Sport Relief, BBC Music Day.
• On commission of reversions the producer will manage and sign off all new re-edited programmes.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who has a strong background in producing factual entertainment long-form programmes and will possess excellent scripting, directing and producing skills as well as first rate editorial judgement. You should have experience of directing large crews on location and overseeing multiple edits.
