Job Description Summary
Cloud Technology Services is responsible for supporting the delivery of a multi cloud service which is one of the core themes within the Group's CIO vision. The Private Cloud forms a key element of bank’s strategy to modernise and digitise its footprint on our journey to help Britain recover. The Technical Delivery Lead will support the design and implementation of technical products, services, strategies and policies to ensure business requirements and user needs are being met. You’ll take a leading role in project assurance and delivery, guiding teams in the assessment and redesign of systems and services and ensuring they are fit for purpose, align with our strategy and deliver an excellent consumer experience. Oversight and governance of our partners and suppliers will form a core part of this role.
Job Description
You’ll advocate outstanding service design methods and tools, coaching other team members in how to apply them correctly and lead the development of roadmaps, products and services that communicate how the end-to-end user experience can be improved. A sponsor of innovation and advocacy, you’ll be able to build and lead a delivery team and embed a desire to experiment and try new things.
As well as assuring Programme and Project delivery provided by IBM for the CMO (traditional infrastructure) and FMO (IBM Private Cloud) as well as newly delivered Oracle Cloud at Customer platform, you’ll assist with the recovery of these Programmes and Projects in the event of any ‘blockers’ and drive the relationship with IBM and Oracle to ensure contractual and commercial obligations for delivery are understood and met, and the services meet/exceed customer expectations.

Key elements of role:
Technical Delivery & Innovation – Ensuring our platforms continue to evolve and develop in line with the bank’s strategy and consumer needs. Lead squads of engineers and supporting resources to develop and deliver new technology, products and services.
Governance – Responsibility for shaping and facilitating of infrastructure governance, including oversight of supplier obligations and adherence to bank processes and policies. Definition key organisational measurements used to track and prove the service delivers positive outcomes for both users and the business
Delivery Assurance – understanding Contractual obligations in order to track, challenge and alter to improve measures as required, raising any risks and concerns promptly and taking ownership of restorative action where necessary
Continuous Improvement – Mature, Modernise, Transform and Promote our offerings as part of the DNA of the role, implementing ‘Get to Green’ plans where offerings are sub-optimal
Technical Oversight & Assurance – Maintain a holistic view over the platforms, facilitate technical discussions, assist with the resolution of complex issues and take a broad perspective to determine solutions and provide functional & technical guidance. Challenge designs and solution decisions to ensure these are fit for purpose and in line with the Private Cloud strategy.
