Role title: Principal Technical Agile Coach
Location: Global (UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Turkey)
Context:
By working together as one Vodafone and consistent with our strategy we are transforming Vodafone into a Technology Communications Company (Tech Comms); offering a range of products and services beyond connectivity to our customers to deepen our relationship with them. To harness our full potential, we need to change fundamentally how we work in certain areas of our business. We need to simplify and standardise how we operate to benefit from our unique advantages of scale and move to a more efficient and effective model to deliver our growth ambitions.
Digital & IT is a newly emerging function within Technology that will be critical to this transformation on a global level. Within this newly created function, a new domain called Lean Portfolio Management & Transformation (LPM&T) has been established with the following mission:
• We are the trusted Enablers of the Business, ensuring that the delivery roadmap of demand will be aligned with the Tech 2025 Strategy and our new Product Operating Model via managing demand, capacity and performance.
• We are the drivers for increasing our delivery efficiency by providing data-based business insights and focusing on the re-usability and standardisation across all markets, also by involving our IT partners.
• We are role modelling the agile ways of working and implementing the SAFe methodology within Digital & IT by setting up an overarching LACE Structure.
Role purpose:
The Technical Agile Coach is a technical delivery coach that has strong hands-on development, testing, DevOps and quality management background to support high quality delivery. You bring along core expertise in the relevant technologies that are required across Digital & IT.
The specialism may take the form of:
1) Agile Development Coach: A Test Driven Development or Test First Development Coach.
2) DevOps Specialist: A DevOps/Continuous Delivery coach responsible for streamlining D&IT’s ability to release code regularly and rapidly to the live environments
3) Infrastructure/Environmental Specialist: An Infrastructure coach responsible for designing development and staging environments, guiding on setup of Virtual Machines and Cloud infrastructure to support the Vodafone Environment
Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
• Supports the software delivery lifecycle to ensure best practice Agile Development Capability across Digital & IT
• Responsible for embedding and working with technical delivery teams and guiding teams from a best-practice implementation perspective
• Share technical knowledge both from within and external to Vodafone and cross pollinate and champion the best ideas and concepts from across Vodafone
• Close alignment/communication with the agile tooling specialist
Core competencies, knowledge and experience:
• Experience as Technical Agile Coach within large delivery organisations
• Strong stakeholder engagement & communication skills
• Experience of Agile frameworks
• Background in software development, product delivery and/or product management
• Highly organised
• Ability to understand, support and articulate complex Business change processes, data-sets and governance
Must have technical / professional qualifications:
• Commercial degree or equivalent
• Knowledge and experience of working in agile frameworks, e.g. SAFe Agilist/SPC, Scrum, Kanban, Agile PM
• SAFe, PMP, MSP or Prince2
• Experience of agile tools, Jira, and PowerBI Pro
• Knowledge and experience working in a LACE structure
• Experience in complex organizations with distributed responsibilities or with an international environment
