Role title: Principal Solution Architect
Location:  UK

Role Purpose:

Working with Total an existing Vodafone customer as the chief technical lead on the account.. The Principal Solution Architect (PSA) primary responsibility is to assist with the technical integration and deployment of the client’s solution so that integrity is assured. Post-delivery maintain that integrity by way of governance and change management, provide overall architectural ownership of the deployed solutions, and strategic technology guidance for future developments.

The PSA will work closely with the Customer, internal technical teams and stakeholders in order to ensure smooth project delivery and act as end-to-end Technical Authority across the technology platform. Working with the Customer, Third parties and Vodafone deliver technical leadership and direction so that the separate technologies are cohesively delivered into an integrated solution.

Operating at a technical level but also able to interface into Head of/Director level stakeholders with Total and Vodafone. Highly resilient, able to influence, challenge and manage relationships at all levels to the benefit of Vodafone and Total.

The PSA will identify, understand and quantify challenges, technical risk and advises on strategies to mitigate that risk. Additionally support in the understanding of technical risks, dependencies and issues that exist, be able to quantify these and the impact that they may have on delivery or service.

The PSA will assist in driving technical compliance and excellence as well as providing technical leadership and quality assurance across multi-disciplined teams. Additionally, they will work with internal technical leads, project and account managers, plus third parties creating Technical Standards and Architectural Vision.

Working directly with the customer and colleagues demonstrating the Vodafone spirit, willingness for some European & UK travel.

Job Responsibility

•    Ability to leverage and influence, and show resolve under pressure from both customers and internal stakeholders ensuring desired Technical outcomes and adoption of standards are achieved.

•    Results driven in order to support the project/programme manager in the delivery of technical developments. Be able to deep dive into detail in order to ensure quality deliverables.

Must have technical/professional qualifications: 
•    Must have core expertise in designing/delivery of complex solutions for IP Networking (WAN & LAN) and one or more of the following areas:
•    MPLS / MPLS-TP
•    Access Technologies
•    LAN/WAN/Wifi
•    SD WAN technologies 
•    Security concepts
•    5+ years’ experience in dealing with large corporate customers in a solution design – ideally with proven technical documentation
•    Experience with IT Managed Services, Business and/or Design frameworks (ITIL, TOGAF, Vodafone Way) used to deliver complex customer solutions.
•    Knowledge of Versa SD Wan a benefit.
