We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to join our team.  You will be joining the project on the ground floor, so your ideas will shape the future of the project. You will work with other teams in Azure networking, and top-notch researchers from Microsoft Research and academia to design, implement, and deploy network monitoring and analytics services that scale out and remove the limitations of existing solution.

Responsibilities

This is a SWE manager role with lots of executive visibility, deep technical impact, product innovation and culture role model with opportunity for advancement You will lead the team building Device Health Model which will build solutions on top of TeraBytes of data. You will participate in architecture and design and ensure a timely creation of the components with high quality. The position involves internal and external collaborations and high visibility in an area of large and expanding investment for Azure. In addition, you will get to publish and present your work in leading industrial and academic forums. You will also play key role in mentoring and growing junior members of the team.   

You will also:   

• Bring clarity, create energy, and drive results – you’ll set a vision, rally the team behind it, and deliver for our clients.   
• Demonstrate the Microsoft manager attributes of model, coach and care with the engineers on your team, so they all learn, grow and succeed.   
• Plan and prioritize work for your team, including collaborating with partner organizations.   

• Create an inclusive environment that attracts and retains high-performing engineers.   

 

Qualifications

You must possess the following attributes:   

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience   

• 2+ year of experience managing software engineers   
• 5+ year of experience with C#, C++, Java or other object-oriented programming languages   
• 12+ years of professional work experience   
• 3+ year of experience building resilient, distributed systems at scale   
• Ability to identify crucial issues, debug and solve them in a timely and concrete manner 

• Ability to engage in site-reliability engineering practices    

These attributes are preferred:    

• Experience with Big Data/ML is a plus 

• Domain knowledge of Networking 
• Experience in cloud development principles and design patterns   
• Technical knowledge of cloud storage, and networking   
• Ability for setting and driving towards measurable goals   
• Excellent collaboration skills with ability to develop key partnerships
