You'll be involved in challenging and varied work to the following:

Develop and maintain web enabled software while technically leading a team of senior developers in delivering technology solutions to meet business needsProvide technical leadership, direction, guidance, and expertise relating to application and integration development and maintenanceChampion and take responsibility for software engineering quality practicesDevelop and maintain DevOps practices across all our productsYou'll be responsible for a range of application development services, including options analysis, design, development, and lifecycle management of integration servicesUltimately alongside the Software Engineering Manager, you'll help build our development capability, partnering with our vendors, designers and architects to help set the direction, approaches and standards used across the team.

About you

As a highly experienced lead Software Engineer, you'll have proven ability to deliver high quality work to scope, specifications, and timeframes. You'll think broadly to understand how your work contributes to the wider systems and strategic direction of Transpower, leveraging your product development background and experience working across software development and operations.

Extensive enterprise application development experience across theJava / J2EE stackHighly proficient withSpring frameworks such as Spring BootExperience with .Net, Kafka, modern UI framework like React/Angular2 would be an advantageYour CV and covering letter will also demonstrate:

Hands-on and current software development experience in Object Oriented technologies while leading product teams in delivering complex software10 or more years of software analysis, design and programming experienceExperience leading application development, building development capability and championing the use of proven software development methodologies, standards and technologies to drive continuous improvementsExperience working with applications DevOps tool-chains for continuous build, integration, packaging and deploymentDemonstrated in-depth knowledge of a broad range of hardware and software productsExperience with Design / Modelling notations and tools (such as UML with Sparx Enterprise Architect)Why you should join us
