We are looking for a talented Principal Software Engineer to help us build the next generation of Azure compute infrastructure that powers Microsoft first-party and third-party customers. Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Software Professsional to help us deliver highly scalable services and world-class product experiences.  You will have opportunities to work on multiple layers of the technology stack, ranging from customer-focused user experience work, building scalable distributed cloud services, working with big data, machine learning, and everything in between. Some of the specific responsibilities include:

• Design and develop robust, distributed, scalable, and resilient platforms for Azure Compute infrastructure, including services and tools;
• Developing Pub-Sub system on top of open sourced Zookeeper/Kafka and contributing to the open source community. 
• Live site monitoring, tooling, and customer engagement on issues and features that affect customers, proactive live site detections and mitigations.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical field, OR 8+ years of equivalent industry experience
• 8+ years of coding proficiency in at least one managed programming language, such as C++, Java, or C#
• 8+ years of software architecture and design experience for large-scale distributed systems

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience delivering cloud services in a software engineering role
• Previous experience in messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, EventHub or Spark
