The team in the Azure Edge & Platform group was formed to incubate and deliver modern techniques for the rapid detection, diagnosis and resolution of software failures at scale. We use Azure-based cloud services to process diagnostics to generate insights and seamlessly integrate these insights into developer workflows. We use ML/RL to deliver intelligent solutions that solve cutting edge problems that improve quality and the developer experience.

The team is searching for a highly motivated engineer who can help us revolutionize the way engineers at Microsoft develop software, someone interested in changing the way developers work at Microsoft and in the world at large.

Responsibilities

The team is looking for a Principal engineer with full stack experience who can drive evolving our architecture to scale with the reliability, performance, and features required to support the needs of a growing customer base. Our team works in an agile environment where each team member will have opportunities to innovate, contribute, and collaborate towards the mission of the team. As a Principal engineer, you will get exciting opportunities to work on cutting-edge technologies across a variety of platforms and help to revolutionize the way the businesses operates.

In this role, you will be incubating and executing on a strategy for the rapid detection, diagnosis and resolution of software failures at scale. You will be working with Azure technologies to design and deliver solutions that facilitate software validation as a service for both edge devices and cloud services. You will be working on projects and cross team initiatives for which you will have to be proficient at creating and maintaining warm and productive working relationships with other teams. Additionally, you will mentor other team members to design and deliver world class solutions that our customers will love.

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 8+ years’ experience in object-oriented programming
• 7+ years’ experience building and shipping production grade software or services
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent or 8+ years of industry experience

Preferred qualifications:

• A strong technical background and solid foundation in software engineering principles and architecture design
• Excellent customer and partner focus; able to understand their needs through a data driven approach
• Ability to be a technical lead for project to drive collaboration and lead junior engineers in the team
• Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with microservices and Cloud Native design patterns
