We are looking for a senior end-to-end telecoms network architect to support the expansion of Sky’s Broadband and Talk Services.
What you’ll do:
• Define and document the end-to-end network architecture for Sky Broadband and Talk services
• Develop and assess business cases for network investments
• Prepare and evaluate competitive tenders for equipment and network services (RFI / RFP)
• Manage contracts with our equipment and wholesale network services suppliers
• Own the technology roadmap for a platform and/or territory
• Support enterprise architecture for operational support processes and systems
• Engage with strategy and marketing functions to develop customer propositions
• Support network design and operations teams to deliver strategic network transformation projects.
What you’ll bring:
• In-depth understanding of end-to-end ISP service architecture including access networking (xDSL, FTTP), metro aggregation, broadband subscriber session termination, telco cloud, core transport, content distribution, internet peering.
• Knowledge of wholesale FTTP bitstream / VULA access implementations
• Preparation and evaluation of commercial tenders
• Development of business cases and presentation to senior business stakeholders
• Knowledge of UK / EU telecoms regulation (security, resilience, lawful intercept…)
• Familiarity with carrier network technologies: xDSL, GPON / XGS-PON, Carrier Ethernet, DWDM, Ethernet, IP/MPLS, CGN
• Familiarity with Broadband Forum, MEF, IETF standards
• Experience working with major telecoms equipment vendors including Cisco, Nokia and Infinera
