Job Description

Accountabilities

  • Creation and approval of manufacturing and test instruction documentation.
  • Process FMEA and process capability proving.
  • Effective Non-Conformance management and corrective action.
  • Team size and capability mix optimisation for successful delivery of work packages and projects.
  • Manage and report against the team's work programmes, including analysis of risk, to ensure the team delivers its accountabilities.
  • Lead and support Continuous Improvement initiatives to ensure the area of responsibility is continually developing to improve efficiency.
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering Manager during the preparation and proving of the Production System for Certificate of Manufacture approval.
  • Risk identification and aversion strategies associated with technical definition and manufacturing methodologies.
  • Development, maintain and control technical interfaces to customers, suppliers and collaborators to ensure effective and swift resolution of technical issues.
  • Develop manufacturing systems and processes in response to the defined Manufacturing Architecture and the Manufacturing, Inspection and Test Plan.
  • Some UK and Overseas travel may be required.

Performance Indicators

  • Manufacturing Milestones achieved against plan.
  • Engineering process documentation produced in line with issued Project plans, in accordance with company process
  • Engineering process documentation maintained and modified in line with revised project plans.
  • Certificate of manufacture completed in accordance with company process
  • Process capability analysis completed and Issued in accordance with company process.
  • Unit Production Costs are in line with project targets.
  • Cost at Completion in line with Task Directive release.
  • Non Conforming items reviewed and Corrective Actions taken to allow delivery of project targets, in accordance with company process
  • All necessary Tooling, Material Handling and Test Facilities are in place and in sufficient quantities.

What we're looking for

  • HNC/HND Level of Qualifications or equivalent plus substantial level of experience
  • Experience in engineering leadership / management.
  • Good Planning and Organising skills to ensure multiple tasks are prioritised and monitored to deliver set objectives.
  • Negotiating and influencing skills, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail
