We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to be responsible for leading several teams in the data analytics space focused on data science, data engineering, and software engineering.  These teams will collaborate closely together to infuse machine learning into Azure Storage services (AIOps), develop anomaly detection systems, create prediction models for customer retention & growth, and build the data warehouse that powers the data-driven decision making of engineers and product managers across Azure Storage. Additional responsibilities include:

• Attract and retain talent while supporting career development and growth of team members
• Collaborate with leaders across Azure Storage to achieve broad impact
• Develop cloud scale data science solutions for Azure Storage
• Organize and lead scrum meetings, track dependencies, and manage project schedules
• Design and develop new features, conduct code reviews, and implement engineering best practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• 7+ years of experience in software development 
• 2+ years experience in data science, machine learning, or related fields
• 2+ years people management experience

• Minimum of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Design, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience

Preferred Qualifications: 

• MS/PhD with research experience in Statistics/Machine Learning
• Experience developing end-to-end Machine Learning systems
• Understanding of public cloud design patterns and considerations in the areas of Distributed Storage Systems, Big-Data, Data Mining, Information Retrieval
• Experience with open-source, cloud-based platforms, Microsoft Azure, or any other public/private cloud platforms
• Experience with statistical, predictive modeling using tools like R, Python, Hadoop, Scikit-learn. Experience with C#/C++/Java
• Experience with Data Structures/Algorithms, Databases, and Cloud Storage
• Proven ability and experience in using mathematical and statistical computation and modeling to improve business KPIs
• Proven ability to plan, schedule and deliver quality software
• Passion for managing and developing people, helping them learn new skills, and reaching their potential
• Passion, conviction, and the innate ability to create clarity, generate energy, and deliver results
• Ability to collaborate across teams and influence others towards common goals and priorities
• Firm sense of accountability and ownership for end-to-end project lifecycle with solid project management and communication skills
