About Windows Signature Experiences Design
As the name suggests the team focuses on creating unique, delightful, and impactful experiences which energizing the Microsoft ecosystem. The team focusses on delivering end-to-end scenarios which allow people to effortlessly finish their tasks, connect with their loved ones, and access information & content at their fingertips.
We collaborate with products and services across Microsoft to identify unique scenarios which can only be achieved by deep integration of such services. Two recent experiences which the team has designed are the Teams Chat Integration and Widgets experiences.
In collaboration with our Product and Engineering counterparts, we design, validate, and implement design and developer solutions that power experiences for the most popular desktop OS on the planet.
Responsibilities
Identify unique opportunities across Microsoft to create a set of memorable and ownable experiences that will help strengthen and differentiate Windows.
Collaborate with multiple product teams to create holistic vision addressing a complex set of user problems and then work with them to create a plan to deliver them.
Invent design solutions to problems you may never have faced before, leading up to driving clarity and generating excitement with an audience of very senior leaders and executives.
Advocate for design and engineering best practices to our design and developer audience to deliver modern and performant experiences
Work closely with Research, Product and Engineering to identify, plan, scope and execute design solutions end to end
Work autonomously and think strategically to identify areas of opportunity across Microsoft.
Being a great role model for junior designers who would look up to you for guidance.
Qualifications
A portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex problems through elegant solutions
10 years of experience of building digital products
5+ years track record of building scalable solutions that demonstrate system thinking
Experience in driving large scale, customer-centered, horizontal initiatives: understanding the needs, behaviors, and motivations of our customers to develop relevant solutions that impact multiple endpoints
Ability to champion collaborative product making and partnering with multiple teams across multiple organizations
Excellent communication and storytelling skills, both verbal and written
Expertise with industry standard design tools (Figma, ProtoPie) and ability create pixel-perfect designs, prototypes, and other design artifacts
Familiarity with agile process, asynchronous communication and working with distributed teams
Skills that will set you apart
Proven ability to identify strategic opportunities in your area and across the broader product team + organization & the creation of a design vision to show how we could accomplish that.
As a Principal designer, great communication skills to effectively present to wide range of audience from Senior Leadership to Individual contributors
Collaborating with a cross discipline team throughout the product making process to help deliver on your design vision
