We are looking for a Principal Business Analyst for our Cloud Supply Chain Transformation. Business analysts play a role in aligning technical solutions (tools, systems) with the needs of the business stakeholders. You will have the incredible opportunity to influence the way one of the world’s largest and fastest growing cloud environments scales our processes and systems. You must be technical and be able to ramp up in new areas quickly since your organization will span all areas of Microsoft’s Cloud Supply Chain. You must have experience in industry leading hardware supply chain practices to play an individual contributor role with responsibilities for thought leadership and driving supply chain process and system capability improvements. This role may also be known as: process analyst, product owner, requirements engineer, business architect, consultant, product manager, or solution architect.

Responsibilities

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Analyze business processes (as-is), anticipate requirements, and look for opportunities for improvement
• Structure and organize requirements, design, validate, verify information, identify solution options, and estimate the potential value
• Validate the solution meets business needs and requirements, remove blockers or barriers to adoption and realizing outlined benefits.
• Translate between technical system/software design stakeholders to supply chain business operations subject matter experts
• Deep dive into technical details and synthesize into clear PowerPoint visuals for executive summary and detailed word documents to communicate at all levels
• Lay out clear options for decision making representing various stakeholder views, but bias for action
• Develops comprehensive functional requirements word document that details definitions, concepts, strategy, problem statement, business requirements, dependencies, risks, etc.
• Orchestrates virtual team to commit to deliverables, due dates, and clear accountability for action follow up.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, IT operations, engineering, or equivalent years of work experience 
• 7+ years supply chain experience
• 5+ years process development experience

Preferred Qualifications 

• MBA or Engineering Masters
• 7+ years of Supply Chain experience in the technology industry
• Master Data Management, Material Master, and Data Governance Experience
• Experience in product development, specifically hardware is a plus
• Configuration Management experience a plus
• SAP implementation experience, especially in a supply chain business analyst role
• Experience in New Product Introduction (NPI) from a procurement or supply planning lens or spares supply chain experience
• Process development/re-engineering experience
• Samples of develop and operationalize data/metrics (e.g., requirements to business results/outcomes)
