Our talented Digital Channels & Publishing team has a 12-month fixed term opportunity for an enthusiastic and experienced Principal Advisor - Web Specialist.
This specialist role sits within the Treasury's Digital Channels & Publishing team supporting two central agencies - the Treasury and DPMC. This role would suit a highly skilled digital professional who has several years of experience developing and implementing innovative digital technologies as well as having an expert knowledge of the latest digital trends and platforms.
KÅrero mÅ te tÅ«ranga | About the Role
In this role you will:
- Provide strategic inputs and lead digital SME for the commissioning and decommissioning of websites, digital channels, and platforms as well as providing informed recommendations to stakeholders, project team members and vendors
- Model effective leadership and communication skills to develop and support productive and credible working partnerships with key stakeholders across both agencies, IT colleagues and external vendors who support our websites
- Recommend and manage technical, content management and information architecture solutions as well as ensuring our finished products meet business and end-user needs
- Collaborate with a variety of teams to lead and manage the successful delivery of the government's annual Budget updates for printed products and for both the Treasury and Budget websites
- Use data and evidence to drive business decisions to improve our products
- Scope, lead and deliver on a variety of challenging workstreams and initiatives
Ō pūmanawa | About You
- You have a demonstrated technical understanding of content management systems, web development processes, platforms, and principles as well as a willingness to share that understanding with other team members and stakeholders in a way that is easily understood.
- Have extensive knowledge of digital best practice within government, in particular government Web Standards and open data initiatives, as well as extensive knowledge of accessibility guidelines across all channels.
- You have excellent knowledge and experience of content management systems including Drupal, SilverStripe and SharePoint as well as leading and providing expert website content publishing advice to both agencies; experience using website analytics tools and an extensive understanding of complex HTML, its application and best practice.
- You work collaboratively with others and in partnership with stakeholders and team members as well as build on relationships with other government agencies.
- You provide leadership and coaching for your immediate team, building on capability across all channels (digital and print)
- You have proven experience in the scoping, management, and delivery of initiatives, resource planning and work allocation, and the ability to motivate and lead others.
- A pro-active approach where you will take pride and ownership of your work and deliver to a high standard; you can problem-solve work collaboratively in partnership with others; you will be flexible in your thinking, an excellent communicator and keep a good sense of humour under pressure.
- Proven analytical / advisory skills with the ability to think strategically as well as operationally.
- A customer-centric approach and be effective in providing advice with a focus on creative problem solving.
- Previous government experience preferable but not necessary
