An excellent opportunity has arisen here at Aviva Personal Lines Underwriting (PLU) for a Lifestyle Pricing Consultant.
This role will provide you with an outstanding oversight of our business with the opportunity to engage with various stakeholders and to become a specialist in specific areas of pricing.

What is Lifestyle PLU?
The Personal Lines Underwriting team (PLU) look after the pricing and underwriting for Aviva’s insurance products in the UK. This is mainly for the Travel, Mobile Phone, Creditor and Personal Accident products, but we’re continually looking to adapt to a changing world.
We use cutting edge analytical techniques to give customers a price and product they are satisfied with. This requires keen and detailed insight, expert risk management and collaboration with different teamwork. We have a huge range of skills and experience, and we’re keen to continue diversifying with people who think and see the world differently to make us stronger. Our people are responsible for building sophisticated models to assess risk and generate suitable prices for customers. Their work ranges from analysing new statistical models, building pricing structures, programming (SQL), creating reporting suites and creating suitable algorithms for new propositions. Communicating complex ideas simply and analysing a changing market are also essential if we are to succeed as a team.
On a daily basis you’ll be providing analysis-based pricing recommendations or underwriting decisions to help deliver continual improvement to the accounts you’re working on and improving the customer experience. You will be central to the latest innovations, which support product development to grow sustainably. You will also work closely with colleagues from across the business to identify the right opportunities to achieve profitable growth and deliver the right outcomes for our customers.

Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and ability to sense-check your work
Ability to manage and prioritise given workload with business objectives
Enthusiasm, self-confidence and an ability to learn and develop
Degree in an analytical discipline or relevant qualifications (such as CII)
Intermediate Excel skills
Programming skills such as SQL, R or Python
Strong stakeholder management
Ability to work under pressure, both in isolation and with other areas of the business
Salary of between £24,000 and £30,000 depending on experienc
