We are currently recruiting for a Pricing Analyst to join our underwriting team. This role could be for somebody who is new to insurance or perhaps at the start of their career or seeking a change of direction or return to work.
The role is situated within Aviva Zero, which is a new Personal Lines insurer with the ambition to be the best in the market. It has the mentality of a start-up and the expertise, data, and financial backing of Aviva. With a focus on car insurance sold through price comparison websites, Aviva Zero will help to advance Aviva’s environmental sustainability agenda through its green proposition.
It focuses on problem solving, using data to identify improvements, and getting involved in innovative pricing models – don’t worry, we will train you in all these areas. We use data science driven analytics to give customers a price and product they are satisfied with, whilst also enabling Aviva to be profitable and grow.
We are seeking a Pricing Analyst to be a core part of this new team, representing an opportunity to be at the forefront of developing an insurance product, and shaping and delivering innovative pricing solutions.
If you are numerical and love data and statistics, this could be the role for you. The key is a desire to learn and develop, the ability to solve ill-defined problems and the curiosity and interpersonal skills to explain the story behind the numbers.
There will be a requirement to go into the London office x3 days per week.
What are the responsibilities?
As part of a highly motivated, multi-disciplinary team, you will spend your time problem-solving and delivering continual improvements to Aviva Zero. This will include product development, building and maintaining pricing models, identifying new opportunities, and collaborating closely with colleagues across the business to achieve profitable growth and deliver good customer outcomes.
What skills and experience do I need?
Strong analytical and numerical skills
A natural problem solver
A quick and keen learner with attention to detail and accuracy
An ability to handle and prioritise given workload within business objectives
An ability to consider a range of potential outcomes, and the ‘so what?’ of a decision
An enthusiastic and curious personality, unsatisfied with the ‘status quo’
A degree or related work experience
What will I get from this role?
Competitive salary of between £24,000 - £40,000 depending on skills, experience, and qualifications
Generous contributory pension scheme (up to 14% employer contributions)
Annual performance related bonus and pay review
Holiday allowance of 29 days plus bank holidays, and the option to buy or sell up to 5 additional days
Up to 40% discounts for some Aviva products, plus discounts for Family and Friends (some exclusions apply)
Excellent range of benefits, including a matching share save scheme
Working at Aviva
At Aviva, we’re people with a purpose. To be with you today, for a better tomorrow.
We bring this to life by ensuring managing risk is at the heart of the way we all work. We love people who do the right thing for our customers, and our colleagues. We want people who speak up, who take ownership, and who make good decisions.
The way we do this is important too, we’re all about our people – that’s you – so we can be pretty flexible. If you want to work from home some of the time or change your hours so you can pick up your kids or care for someone in your family, we’re very open to that. In fact, we don’t advertise roles as either part or full time, because we know each person has different needs, just as each business area has different needs. So, it’s up to you to discuss working hours during your interview.
We care deeply about being inclusive and that means we encourage applications from people with diverse backgrounds and experiences. We want our employees to bring their whole self to work and that starts with you.
We interview every disabled applicant* that meets the minimum criteria for the job. Once you’ve applied, please send us a separate email stating that you have a disclosed disability, and we’ll make sure we interview you.
We’d love it if you could submit your application online. If you require an alternative method of applying, please give Guv Johal a call on 0750 008 7919 or send an email to Guv.Johal@Aviva.com.
*As defined in The Equality Act 2010*. By ‘minimum criteria’ we mean you should provide us with evidence which demonstrates that you generally meet the level of competence required and have the qualifications, skills or experience defined as essential to perform the role.
