About the team
The Portfolio Financial Specialist sits within the Business Operations Financial & Commercial team within the Corporate IT branch. The Corporate IT portfolio manages SAP system project, maintenance, and asset maintenance funds.
We specialise in budgeting and performance reporting for the cluster by guiding and partnering with various project teams depending on the funding stream portfolio.
The opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for a Portfolio Financial Specialist to join us on an ongoing full-time basis in our Financial & Commercial team of Corporate IT. Our offices reside in Macquarie Park with flexible/hybrid work arrangements in play.
The Portfolio Financial Specialist supports the Senior Manager Finance and Commercial in the reporting and monitoring of the Corporate IT portfolio financial status as well as partnering with project managers to provide training and support to enable them to effectively manage project finances.
Manage Portfolio finances ensuring alignment to strategy and financial year plans. Assist with the preparation of project and portfolio reporting and dashboards.
Driving initiatives aimed at improving processes, reporting and governance for ongoing Capital (CAPEX) and Operational (OPEX) expenditure plans.
Provide support and advice with respect to investment opportunities, including financial modelling (scenario and sensitivity analysis), business case review and benefit analysis.
Provide financial performance and control including FTE and expense base management and the
appropriate allocation of costs.
Provide consulting and training to Project Managers on how to manage project financials in Transport.

About you
You are a seasoned Financial Specialist looking for an opportunity to apply your expertise and refine your skills along the way. With a background in financial management combined with analytical modelling / business intelligence tool experience, you will be able to take an analytical approach and partner with project managers to help deliver and drive outcomes for Corporate IT. You will have:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance.
Excellent interpersonal skills and advanced communication skills is a must, with experience communicating to senior leadership.
Experience in producing accurate, high quality financial management reports and dashboards.
Strong analysis and analytical mindset.
Do you have a continuous improvement mindset, enjoy business partnering and consistently seek to find better ways of doing things? Then this is the role for you.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9A ($138,670) – 9E ($155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
