Manager - Semi-Custom Power and Performance Engineering- 114665

The Person:
The AMD Semi-Custom Business Unit (CGE) is looking for a dynamic, upbeat power and performance manager to join our growing team passionate about power and performance attainment and creating a world class execution environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a hardworking distributed team passionate about delivering a robust memory sub-system for new APU/CPU semi-custom products, including pre-silicon and post-silicon work
- Own the team to innovate methods for pre-silicon power and performance validation and efficiencies for post silicon power/perf attainment, feature enablement, optimization, and validation
- Drive power and performance validation strategies from pre-silicon through customer adoption working across architecture, silicon design, firmware, validation, and debug teams
- Proactively leading project planning, developing and maintaining schedules, managing dependencies, and ensuring quality of work you're doing at committed landmarks
- Working directly with our customers to ensure their power and performance goals are delivered to meet industry best requirements
- Partner with technical specialists to drive debug and resolution of power and performance issues across silicon, firmware/BIOS, and coordinating with memory partners as needed
- Develops regular status representing the system memory team in program meetings providing status to program and senior management
- Ability to manage and plan staffing and budget needs to ensure a productive team
- Passion for managing engineers and able to effectively coaches and mentors direct staff.
Preferred Experience:
- Engineering management and technical leadership experience in system memory domain
- Experience in post silicon validation with a focus on power and performance.
- Experience in the debug of performance and power attainment issues as well as understanding of optimization techniques across OS/FW/HW full stack.
- Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to connect with a variety of engineering fields and management
Academic Credentials:
- Masters or Bachelors in CE, CS, EE or with 10 years of experience
Location:
- Austin, TX. Some travel (up to 25%), including international, is expected.
