In this position, you will be part of part of our responsive and supportive resource management planning team, assisting our Council to meet its resource management obligations.

The Planning Technician is responsible for a variety of tasks. These include the implementation of the Resource Management Act through the assessment of development proposals against the provisions of the District Plan.
They will assist the Planning team by working with the public, internal staff and consultants to provide a high standard of customer service.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in working with people to promote positive environmental outcomes within a District Council setting.
They will have strong communication skills and be able to think on their feet. While it is desirable that the successful applicant have a relevant tertiary qualification and / or experience in a resource management related field, applications from those wanting to work towards a future in this field will be considered.
