This role of Junior Production Management Assistant is to be a Phone in Operator in BBC Northern Ireland.
It is quite often the first point of contact that listeners and viewers have with the BBC so comes with the responsibility of representing the BBC directly with the audience.
Working to support programmes like The Nolan Show, Talkback, Hugo Duncan and Gardeners Corner by taking calls, comments, requests and queries from our listeners.
To assist the programme team by operating the phone-in system, taking callers details and comments and passing this information to the programme team in a clear and concise way.
To assist contributors to the studio and, when necessary, brief them concerning the Producer’s intentions.
To act as a point of contact with the public with regards to programme enquiries and directing callers to the appropriate department as necessary.
To support the department by sharing collective information and providing sick and holiday cover.
To take responsibility for the training of other phone in operators
To help in other departments as and when required.
Reasonable duties as assigned by the BBC
As the right candidate for this role you will have a wealth of call handling experience along with experience of dealing with audience/customers.
You will be passionate about broadcasting and have an extensive knowledge of BBC Radio Ulster programmes and their content.
You must have experience or working as part of a team, able to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks as they are assigned to you. Finally, you will have experience of typing at speed and with accuracy.
