Sydney Metro, a NSW Government statutory authority has been tasked with developing and delivering metro railways, and managing their operations. Sydney Metro also leads the development of vibrant station precincts to meet customer and community needs, transforming the way Sydney travels and helping shape the future of Australia’s largest city.
The opportunity
The primary purpose of this role is to provide technical advice, documentation review, technical assurance, standards and knowledge management with regard to engineering components associated with the metro product outcomes across all Sydney Metro Project phases and technical disciplines providing inputs with design and design working groups, assurance and technical problem solving.
As a Senior Engineer, you will be expected to contribute advice and assist with the design input and design review for work completed by private sector partners and operational areas for engineering, ensuring that timelines are met and that designs are fit for purpose and comply with design standard requirements, construction and operations requirements, and relevant national/international quality standards from a whole-of-life asset management perspective.
You will assist with monitoring design and engineering plans to ensure compliance with planning approvals, engineering standards and ensure that they contribute to customer requirements and provide environmentally sustainable outcomes.
As well, you will be required to liaise with, influence and work collaboratively with Project Delivery Implementation Groups and major works contractors to support quality design and transport product outcomes for the project.
About you
You will need to have experience in interface and/or Technical Validation of multi-disciplined projects and programs of work in a complex operations environment (preferably rail or construction), ideally a minimum of 5 years experience.
Experience in a similar function, as well as extensive experience in delivering multidisciplinary projects with large capital expenditure.
Technical Engineering Management, Interface management, portfolio development and risk-based prioritisation experience, including translating technical understanding into business and program delivery.
Degree qualifications in Engineering or relevant discipline will be required.
Salary and Benefits
This is a Transport Services Grade 8 position ($123,470 – 138,284 per year, plus superannuation and leave loading).
