Our Safety Environment Quality Risk (SEQR) team put our people and customers of Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink at the centre of everything we do. As part of Group Rail, SEQR provides services to Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink to deliver expert specialist support & advice about, safety, environment, heritage & sustainability, risk, health services & human factors in line with legislative & regulatory requirements.
 
The opportunity  
 
Right now we have a permanent opportunity for a Risk Specialist with system safety assurance/safety case experience to join us in in Safety Environment Quality Risk (SEQR) and play a key role in providing professional risk-related services and advice to business customers, promoting and embedding consistent and integrated risk management practices across the organisation to ensure compliance with Sydney Trains Safety Management System.

What you will be involved in: 
  

• Providing expert advice and guidance to business customers across a diverse range of risk related services under the Sydney Trains enterprise management systems related to safety, quality and environment.
• Leading the development of safety assurance deliverables for complex and safety critical change .
• Undertaking technical safety risk assessments for management to inform risk-based decisions and support demonstration that risk is reduced SFAIRP. 
• Maintaining and developing relevant project hazard logs throughout the project lifecycle to identify, record and report on issues and escalate to senior management where necessary
• Monitoring the regulatory environment, identifying legislative and/or regulatory changes that impact Sydney Trains.

About you  

You are Tertiary qualified in a Risk relevant discipline with demonstrated experience in the application of risk assessment techniques to support risk based decision making within a safety critical environment.
You will have demonstrated experience providing a risk and /or assurance function with significant demonstrated experience in application of system safety assurance activities within projects and programs to support delivery of Safety Assurance Cases for significant change.
You will also have technical capability of safety cases and the enterprise risk register, with the ability to facilitate that with the business for the customer you are business partnering.
