About The Role

Our NPD Team is a very important team when it comes to Morrisons Manufacturing. It’s down to them to ensure that we create market leading products that our customers love. In this role, you will be a key part of the NPD Process launching market leading chilled products. 

Reporting to the NPD Specialist, you will:

• Support the concept to launch process

• Help create products that our customers will love based on consumer trends

• Support the NPD Specialist and NPD Manager to deliver the Site Product Development Plan

• Attend customer research listening groups and debriefs

• Work closely with cross functional teams to ensure NPD projects are launched on time and are best in class

• Collaborate closely with Technical, safeguarding the quality of proposed products for all of Morrisons customers

• Ensure products produced are profitably priced and meet margin expectations

Our NPD Technologists know how to work at pace and regardless of which department they work in they all have the same goal - to develop great food for our customers! It's fast and ever-changing - are you up for the challenge? Reporting to the NPD Specialist, you will be responsible for the completion of NPD projects, from concept to launch. You’ll ensure products have the right taste profile, cost and nutritional content, once approved you’ll take products through production trials to launch under the guidance of the NPD Specialist. Other tasks will include:

• Leading NPD project meetings, ensuring critical path timelines are met for successful product launches 

• Develop market leading products in collaboration with the rest of the NPD team

• Use knowledge of ingredients, flavours and trends to develop great-tasting products that meet nutritional targets

• Work closely with the Specifications Technologist ensuring all factory and MCreate specifications capture correct NPD information

• Review processes to highlight EPD opportunities

About You

As well as having a passion for food and an eye for detail, you will also need to have:

• Knowledge of the chilled, cooked meats market ideally

• Experience within NPD previously

• You will have great relationship building skills being able to connect and work with many stakeholders across the business with the ability to influence

• Enthusiasm and drive to deliver results

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise 

The role is mainly based out of the Morrisons Deeside Manufacturing Site, however there will be a need to attend meetings at Morrisons Head Office in Bradford. Alongside this, there will also be opportunities to visit other sites and suppliers.
