We are looking for Cost and Margin Analysts. You will be part of an exciting growth time within Iceland and will support the business in delivering value for our customers. You will report into a Senior Analyst, within the Commercial Finance Team. You do not need to have a financial background just have a keen eye for detail and enjoy numbers.
In this role, you will be responsible for providing insight to the Trading team, which can then be used to drive business performance; and will use multiple data sources and tools to do this. The role will include analysis to support supplier negotiations, with a wide remit across product cost and other drivers of margin.
The work you will be carrying out is critical to our business.
Key Accountabilities
Solving complex problems in a fast-paced Trading environment
Building an in-depth understanding of the components and drivers of product cost
Owning and maintaining pricing models that reflect the latest commodity and market conditions such as: climate change, inflation and topical news subjects
Supporting both new and existing product development processes with insightful cost modelling and analysis. This will include activities like site visits, negotiations, and product testing sessions
Working closely with Trading to ensure you are proactively delivering actionable insight which has a positive impact on margin performance. This could include looking at pricing or promotion performance
Building your knowledge of the market and supply base.
Conduct and share relevant market, supplier and commodity research and analysis.

Strong communication skills and an ability to make detailed analysis easy to understand
Good numerical skills with some experience of working with a large volume of data
An ability to get into the detail and understand fully the drivers of product cost and how changing market conditions can impact these.

Experience within either Retail, Manufacturing or a Commercial Analytics environment would be advantageous

The ability to use data modelling tools effectively and ensure the data and models are always maintained.
Degree-educated in a related subject.
