At Sales & Service, we build and maintain our own Commerce platform to serve many customers across Sky and its various propositions world-wide.

Combining our Microservice architecture and our agile methodology, we are constantly scaling our apps to meet the growing demands of our customer base and the upcoming requirements of launching new propositions, such as the recently announced Sky Showtime.

We’re looking for a passionate non-functional tester who can take on the responsibility of scaling our apps appropriately, based on business needs.

What you’ll do:

• Driving improvements and adoption of test frameworks, following the principles of the open-source movement.
• Developing software to enhance the performance engineering capability of our apps.
• Contributing to the delivery and success of the Sky Global OTT solution
• Comfortable with taking full ownership of the non-functional test process, that includes ownership of the sign-off of release builds and in-depth issue investigation.
• Performing non-functional testing within an agile software development environment with a view to aiding continuous delivery.
• Building and designing real world test scenarios that are integrated into the continuous delivery pipeline.

What you’ll bring:

• Experience with performance testing tools e.g., Gatling, JMeter, is essential
• High level programming/scripting languages e.g., Scala, Java and Bash, preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with communication protocols/technologies e.g., HTTP/HTTPS, Kafka, is essential
• Experience with monitoring/visualization/time series database technologies is desirable e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK
• Experience of containerisation e.g., Docker, Kubernetes would be useful
• Experience using version control e.g., git & · Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, e.g., Jenkins
