Performance Attainment Engineer
THE ROLE:
The successful candidate will assume responsibility for post-silicon activities related to power and performance characterization and optimization of AMD Datacenter products
THE PERSON:
Must be a self-starter, and able to independently drive tasks to completion
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Developing and executing characterization and optimization test plans for performance KPIs like bandwidth and latency
Analyzing datapath bottlenecks and resolving the bottleneck in a cross functional setting
Collaborate with software teams to develop new stress workloads based on characterization results
Support prototyping experiments for improving current and implementing new features that impact performance and power
Debugging and troubleshooting system-level issues that may occur in test environments and platforms
Proactively driving continuous improvement for pre and post silicon power/performance activities
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Strong C++ programming skills
Strong preference for Python and shell scripting
Strong understanding of computer organization/architecture.
Good understanding of timing in digital electronics
Understanding of Power/thermal management
Proficient in using lab equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a key attention to detail
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelors degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or Computer Science with emphasis on computer architecture and workload analysis
MS/PhD degree preferred
2+ years’ experience preferred.
