As a Performance Analyst you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining a portfolio of advanced tools and reports which enable a deep understanding of our key performance indicators, leveraging the rich and varied data at our disposal. We want you to have a point of view, combining commercial insight, curiosity, and an understanding of our business to provide recommendations and identify opportunities for improvement.

We support decision-making across a wide range of Commercial Levers, including Space, Range, Innovation, Pricing and Promotions. You might be working on developing new trackers to measure the commercial performance of our new product development, supporting category teams to carry out data-driven negotiations with suppliers or developing new machine learning models to classify products into strategic segments.

You’ll have the chance to work with a modern and powerful tech stack of Snowflake, Alteryx, R, Python and Tableau, while working with a team of talented colleagues driving impact at the heart of our commercial division.

More about the role:

• Develop new ETL processes, statistical analyses, machine learning models and dashboards which aid and support strategic commercial decision making
• Be creative in leveraging new data sets and creating new sources of insight to help solve our toughest commercial problems and make tangible recommendations
• Automate new and existing processes
• Work with other data & analytics teams in the business to access data, thinking outside the box to resolve blockers
• Carry out ad-hoc and deep-dive analyses
• Work in cross-functional teams to provide insight on strategic questions
• Ensure regular reports are accurate and delivered on time
• Work through the list of data requests you receive in an organised and timely manner
• Regularly seek feedback to improve the robustness and trustworthiness of your reports and ensure they remain useful to end users

More About you:

• An interest in how commercial decisions can be improved using data and analysis
• Able to work at pace and to deadlines, applying judgement to identify where an 80:20 approach is required
• Ability to propose and interpret KPIs and frameworks to identify opportunities and guide action
• Knowledge of statistical and machine learning techniques, their use-cases, trade-offs and pitfalls
• Essential: SQL and either R or Python
• Desirable: Tableau, Alteryx, Microstrategy, Power BI
• Understanding of databases and how to efficiently query information
• A strong team player able to work collaboratively with stakeholders within and outside the team using strong written and oral communication
• Able to communicate complex analytical approaches to a non-technical audience
