About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a People Specialist - Employee Relations (Retail) to join our People team on a 12 month secondment / fixed term contract.

 

The role will be responsible for:

  • providing a quality and solution focused Employee Relations service
  • providing support on complex change programmes, specialist training interventions & development of HR policies
  • involvement in diversity, inclusion and wellbeing projects which balance the needs of colleagues and the commercial considerations of the business
  • working with relevant stakeholders to champion positive employee relations across the business

The role will:


  • work across all 4 business divisions
  • be responsible for delivery of relevant projects as required by the business/ER/people plan
  • focus on ER plans over a 3-6 month period
  • be involved with project work that may require interactions with subject matter experts from around the business
  • reduce exposure to financial risk and assisting in change that results in cost savings




About You


Role-specific knowledge, skills & experience:  

 

Knowledge

  • Experience of working on and managing change projects

  • Strong employment and case law knowledge and best practice employee relations in external organisations

  • Interest in Diversity & Inclusion and wellbeing



Skills

  • Ability to practically develop and apply our people policies, ensuring these remain in line with current legislation

  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identifying themes and trends that will act as input to plans and solutions

  • Demonstrates an ability to influence and confidently challenge stakeholders to reduce risk 

  • The ability to listen to our colleagues and stakeholders and act upon feedback received

  • Ability to quickly establish strong relationships with people at all levels within a multi-site organisation

  • The ability to remain highly effective in changing business circumstances, with strong personal resilience, versatility and adaptability

  • Demonstrate passion and commitment enabling a culture where everyone is welcome, and colleagues feel cared for

 

Experience

  • Experience of supporting change initiatives 

  • Experience of designing and implementing specialist training interventions, face to face and e-learning

  • Experience of working in an HR or ER role or equivalent
