About the role:
You will work collaboratively within a team of Business Partners and Advisors to strategically address systemic human resource (HR) issues while providing responsive advice and practical support on a broad range of HR and employee relations matters. Your contribution will support a productive work culture and positive HR practices, with further scope to work with the business on organisational development and change management initiatives.
You will coach and support managers and staff to enhance business effectiveness and capability in HR decision-making, and provide high level employee relations advice to facilitate appropriate resolution of employee matters and mitigate the risk of workplace relations issues. You will also provide coaching, mentoring and training on best practice to our P&C Advisors.
Our team understands the challenges of starting a new job during work-from-home restrictions and will make you feel welcome while we transition back to our hybrid way of working with a mixture of work from home and attendance at our modern CBD office.
About you:
You will have extensive experience providing strategic and operational advice on people management, general HR and employee relations issues. You will have highly developed coaching and influencing skills, an excellent understanding of relevant employment law and the ability to confidently advise and consult with stakeholders across the organisation.
You will be tertiary qualified in human resource management (or have extensive equivalent experience in a similar position) with proven experience in employee/workplace relations.
You will also demonstrate an interest in the work of our organisation and want to contribute to our vision of being a leading and responsible force for community access to the legal system and for social justice.
About Victoria Legal Aid:
Our vision is for a fair and just society where rights and responsibilities are upheld. With over 1000 staff employed in 15 offices across Victoria, we help people with their legal problems by providing information, advice and education with a focus on the prevention and early resolution of legal problems. We also provide legal representation to those who need it most.
Employee benefits:
We offer attractive employment benefits including salary packaging (making part of your salary tax-free), flexible working arrangements under a hybrid work model, family friendly policies and opportunities for professional development. Whilst the work is challenging, you will be rewarded with a culture that is focused on achieving quality outcomes for disadvantaged Victorians.
